The Global Talent visa is one of the fastest ways to obtain permanent residence in the UK; however, there are requirements that need to be considered in order to make a successful ILR application.
These requirements include:
Having a valid endorsement from an institution/organization that was obtained in the first stage of the application process (Endorsement);
Meeting the continuous residence requirement in the UK for three or five years;
Not exceeding the allowable absences from the country;
Engaging in and continuing to engage in professional activity from which you earn an income, as specified in your initial visa application;
Meeting the English language and "Life in the UK" test requirements.
It is important to understand whether you can apply for permanent residence after three years of residence or whether you need to fulfill the five-year requirement.
Typically, you will be eligible to apply for ILR after just 3 years if you have received endorsement from one of the following organizations:
The British Academy
The Royal Academy of Engineering
The Royal Society
UK Research and Innovation
Arts Council England or Tech Nation (provided you were endorsed as a leader, i.e., Global Talent, under a UK Artist or Tech Nation visa)
Financial Requirement
To qualify for ILR, you will need to confirm that you have been engaged in employment in the UK as a Global Talent visa holder.
There is no minimum income requirement in this case. The type of evidence required will depend on your employment status, i.e., whether you are self-employed, own a business, or are employed by a company.
The above-mentioned requirements are the main ones, but they do not take into account the individual aspects of each application and your personal situation.
